Russell A. Geiger, founder and principal of Hydrologic Irrigation Design, Consulting & Engineering has over 25 years experience in golf course management and has held the noted status of C.G.C.S. since 2003. As a veteran turf manager, he has acquired substantial hands-on experience and knowledge of all aspects of irrigation theory, technology and application in addition to a keen sence of resource conservation.
Russell earned both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from The University of Florida at Gainesville in the discipline of Agricultural Engineering and has utilized his technical education skills throughout his career in general problem solving and management innovation.
Throughout the course of his career, Russell has managed numerous construction projects and represented owners and clients with a very high level of economic efficiency and professional quality. His engineering background has proved to be a vital asset in coordinating project planning and execution on all phases including economic analysis/reporting, permitting, contractor bidding/selection and quality control. Russell has had the opportunity to work in conjunction with many qualified golf architects, course builders, irrigation professionals, engineers and agronomists.
In recent years, Russell has become very involved in research and implimentation of irrigation resource conservation through utilization of alternative technology and equipment. It has been learned through his experience and that of countless collegues, the importance of water resource conservation and how the future management of irrigation systems and princilples must respond accordingly to meet new demands.
